Renta Corporación’s shareholders approve the capital increase and pave the way for the British private equity group 3i
The General and Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting of Renta Corporación held in Barcelona on December 27 gave the thumbs up to the Board of Directors’ proposal to increase the company’s share capital. This means that 3i, one of the world’s most prestigious private equity fund managers, now comes into the company with a 10% shareholding.
The shareholders also approved the appointment of Carlos Tusquets, who will act on behalf of 3i at the property group’s Board meetings, which are chaired by Luis Hernández de Cabanyes. In addition to Carlos’ arrival, Pedro Nueno, a well-known lecturer at the IESE Business School, is also to take a seat on the Board as an independent director, in line with recommendations on Corporate Governance.
