Renta Corporación appoints Juan Velayos as Company Secretary and Secretary to the Board of Directors

At a meeting held yesterday, April 25, the Renta Corporación Board of Directors approved the Appointments and Remuneration Committee’s proposal to appoint Juan Velayos as new Company Secretary as well as Secretary to the Board of Directors. At the end of June, Juan Velayos will take over from Esther Giménez Arribas, who will continue as a Board member. Once the new Company Secretary assumes his post, Esther Giménez will turn a new leaf in her career, becoming Managing Director of Fundación Renta.

Juan Velayos’ professional background and his extensive experience in corporate operations, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, as well as his broad experience as a consultant to publicly listed companies will make him a valuable member of the Renta Corporación management team.

Juan Velayos is currently Legal Counsel and Deputy Secretary to the Renta Corporación Board of Directors. He holds a degree in Law from the CEU-Abad Oliba University, and from 1996 until now has been a partner at prestigious law firm Uría Menéndez, working from their Barcelona office. He managed the law firm’s Mexico office from 2000 to 2003, and then returned to carry on his duties from Barcelona. Juan Velayos is one of the most distinguished lawyers in the fields of stock market, mergers and acquisitions and finance.
